What we will do:
January is a special month to fall in love with Ischia !
We treat ourselves like Queens and Kings from the very beginning of the year !
We deserve to completely disconnecting from our everyday life !
Less people around, fairytale Christmas atmosphere perfect to immerse ourselves in unique charming places with natural views and open air hot spas to revitalize our energy !
This time we will not rent a scooter like last Summer,
instead we will have our private drivers who whill drive us directly in comfort to and from the hiking paths.
Take the first train from Rome and the ferry that will lead you to Ischia Forio at 11.00 am.
Immediately after our arrival on another planet (as Ischia is really on another dimension....volcanic, caraibic, hot springs, seaside breathtaking views... combined by vineyards!),
we will have a 2nd breakfast toghether facing the harbour.
Then our drivers will lead us on the other side of the island .
Piano Liguori is the perfect welcome with its circular trek of about 8 km, on flat ground mainly, where we will begin to become familiar with the beauty and views of the island.
Given the fact that we are in the vineyard area,
would you have a better idea at the end, in front of the monumental
stand alone Castel Aragonese, connected by a short masonry bridge,
by tasting with local and genuine wine and products ?
Finally,
after exploring this intimate fisherman village surrounded by the traditional Christmas decorations with fairytales lights,
we will arrive after sunset but before dinner at our 4 stars hotel in Forio, where our drivers left earlier our luggages to immerse ourselves in hot thermal swimming pools under the stars of Ischia.
Saturday:
After an energizing breakfast, we will reach the area called Santa Maria al Monte where we will take a breathtaking route of medium difficulty.
We will walk on the footsteps of the first farmers just towards the famous Monte Epomeo admiring the hypnotic charm of its volcanic origin with fumaroles and the green tufa houses built by the farmers in a fairytale landscape crossing the Frassitelli wood.
We will end our fantastic half day ( 10 km, D+ 360 mt),
by exploring a tropical garden where the owner created a magnificent world made by incredible fat plants where we will taste a local unique surprise for our light lunch !
Relax in the late afternoon,
back to the hotel by walk, it's only 15 min away,
where we can recharge our batteries with a regenerating spa just a stone's throw from our room!
Everyone is free for dinner, like the day before,
but we will decide together if we want to reach Forio, the closest village to our accommodation to explore its unique little streets or to Sant' Angelo to be inspired by its unique little houses enlighten by colorful bulbs...
I will share some tips for you to spend a memorable dinner !
Sunday:
In the morning, we will wake up in time to reach some hot springs on the seaside directly.
The itinerary is short ( 7 km ) and easy but the gratification will be huge as we will see the sun rising up from the seaside and nature waking up slowly.
Afterward,
we will go downstairs into natural warm springs to relax and make natural thermal mud.
Then,
we will relax one more time for another moment of thermal relaxation in the comfort of our hotel.
Before to reach the harbor with our hotel shuttle and take the ferry back to Napoli,
walk in the picturesque narrow streets of Forio, where you are free to buy some souvenirs.
You will feel like you have been away from the world and your everyday life for a long time..
because you will have truly experienced another time, another dimension of living, a slower pace... keep this great wealth with you!
