"The traditional "Festa delle Marie" reminds the Doge's tribute brought annually to twelve beautiful and humble Venetian maidens, giving them the dogali jewels as dowry for the marriage.
This Feast is a unique moment to admire the costumes of the Venetian tradition, unfolds over several days.
The historical parade of the twelve Venetian girls selected in the previous weeks,
starting from San Piero di Castello around 2.30 pm, along via Garibaldi and Riva degli Schiavoni, Venezia in a spectacular procession, will arrive on the stage of Piazza San Marco Venezia around 4.00 pm , where the official presentation of the Carnival will take place."
